Sports & Recreation

Scuba Instructor(s)
Dungun Dive Resort Sdn Bhd in Kuala Dungun, Terengganu, Malaysia is looking for two (2) female instructors to complete the instructor team.

We are a SSI Instructor Training Center (ITC). If you are NAUI / PADI or other agencies, please think about doing a cross-over. It can be done here.

You need to be able to start in April 2018.

You will undergo two (2) months of probation and if all goes well, you will be part of our pool sharing system. Instructor(s) in the pool sharing system will share work and commissions.

Benefits during the probation:
– Accommodation (twin sharing);
– Food & Beverage;
– Commissions on all fun dives and courses done;
– Commissions for selling merchandising; and
– Possibility to do fun dives for yourself when you are not on duty.

After the probation period, you will integrate into the pool sharing system. The pool sharing system gets all the work in priority and share all commissions.

When you are in the Pool Sharing System, you are entitled to the followings:
– Four (4) days off in a month;
– Accommodation (twin sharing);
– Food & Beverage;
– Commissions on all fun dives and courses done shared in the pool sharing system;
– Commissions for selling merchandising; and
– Possibility to do fun dives for yourself when you are not on duty.

As part of the pool sharing system, you need to help in the dive center (office work) in the evening once a week. For this extra duty, pool sharing system member(s) will be sharing a 2% of total income. This pool sharing system consist of four (4) members.

Key Responsibilities
– Smile and greet all guest approaching the reception counter, preferably by using their name and project Malaysian image by following the Malaysian way of salutation;
– Keep updated on the VIP’s arriving, functions held and happening in the resort of the day;
– To provide courteous and efficient service when trying to comply with each and every guest promptly and tactfully. Provide responsive and attentive service with relaxed efficiency by meeting and exceeding all guest’ requests;
– Check-in & Check-out guest accurately, efficiently and promptly within the minimum standards set;
– The registration form must be signed and acknowledge by that specific staff checking in the guest;
– Ensure that all registration forms are fully completed with the relevant details (i.e: guest signature, identification card / passport number, date of birth, mailing address, credit / debit card imprint with the 3-digit security code & collect sufficient deposit;
– Ensure that all registration forms are correctly updated with the correct profile and promptly filled. Receive and slot guest bills into the correct guest’ folder;
– Correctly register and assign rooms for arriving guests according to their request and avoid room change;
– To ensure that clear and accurate directions are given to the guests by using specific key words (i.e: stating room number, floor level and location of the building;
– Record in the Front Office logbook of any incidents or any important matters that require follow-up;
– To be responsible for their respective float. This float is issued solely to that one associate and there will not be and handing over of this float between GSA’s. This float must be secured in the safe deposit box provided at the end of their shift;
– To be able to handle minor complaints and to record all suggestions and comments by the guests and reports these incidents to the Supervisor or Manager;
– Answer all incoming call at the reception counter within the designated minimum standard;
– To ensure that any follow-up is duly and thoroughly executed;
– Ensure proper and accurate credit / debit card settlement procedures by ensuring that all supporting documentation is in place;
– To perform any other duties as requested by his / her superiors.

Gardener

Responsible for the general maintenance of the gardens, plants and lawns at the Resort. And also maintain the beautification of the lawns and gardens in order to attract guests to hotels lush and green surroundings.

Key Responsibilities
– Soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, seed sowing, bed preparation and planting;
– The use and maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery;
– The use of cylinder and rotary mowers, strimmer’s, leaf blowers;
– Adjustments of mower height and quality of cut, etc;
– Oil level checks and check for damage to any mower;
– Report equipment malfunctions to engineering as and when noticed;
– To be aware of Health and Safety requirements noting that all duties must be carried out to comply with current Health & Safety at Work legislation;
– To ensure all equipment, machinery is stored securely and clean after use;
– Plant and transplant flowers, shrubs, trees and lawn;
– Maintain gardens by naturally fertilising, trimming and making sure that plants are receiving adequate water;
– Prune trees and hedges in ways that help the plants’ health, are safe and look good;
– Maintain lawn and grass areas using machinery, natural fertilisers but no chemicals;

Security Officer
Key Responsibilities
– Being alert in protecting our guests and colleagues against outside threat, invasion and other matters uncalled;
– Committed to the protection of properties, equipment, machineries, documents and all other assets of the resort and its guests against theft, infiltration, intention of sabotage and any form of whatsoever danger;
– Implement security protocols in accordance with procedures, attention to details and highest level of integrity;
– To perform traffic control for the surrounding area;
– To ensure security checks are conducted for exit bag / parcel searches of contractors, suppliers, part-timers and staff; and
– To conduct security patrols in assigned areas and report to Security Control Room of any situation of the ordinary, obstructions, suspicious characters, damages or out-of-order facilities or items for further action.

Qualifications & Requirements
– Candidate must possess at least Primary / Secondary School / SPM / “O” Level or equivalent;
– Minimum two (2) years working experience in the related field;
– Possess a high level of professionalism and integrity while maintaining the confidentiality of the office;
– A positive attitude and a can-do approach to any task are essential;
– Applicants must also have a high intention and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment;
– Able to work independently with minimum supervision;
– Well-groomed and good interpersonal skills;
– Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia, English & Mandarin (Written & Spoken);
– Must be willing to work in Kuala Dungun, Terengganu, Malaysia;
– Must be willing to work on full time contract basis; and
